Flowers for Mary
Lost in the hectic schedule (sorry, Mother Mary!) is the fact that this weekend begins May, a traditional month for remembering and honoring Mary, the mother of Jesus and our mother. We invite the children of our parish to bring a flower or two (even if it's a dandelion taken from the lawn or a blossom cut from a blooming tree) to carry together in our opening Mass processions to the statue of Mary. We'll have extra flowers on hand for those who forget or have nothing growing nearby (pray for rain!).
If families would like to bring additional bouquets or arrangements in vases to leave at one of the images of Mary in our chapel and/or church after making a visit, please do so. These sorts of family devotions are a powerful way of passing on the faith!
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us.
